Tarragona Roman World Heritage Site

So today we visited all the famous Roman sights in Tarragona and counted 15.000 steps with my Runtastic tracker until 4 in the afternoon. Had a wonderful Menue of the day here in the local Club Nautic and boy they even give you 1/2 bottle of wine with it which does the job. Ready for Siesta very Spanish! So right now we will hit the road again to catch the blue hour for the best photos of the day.

Holidays in Tarragona

Well, we continued to Tarragona which we didn't know what to expect of. Yeah and then we went round and round and could not find our hotel. Gee can't they provide you with an exact address that the navi can understand? Can't be that diffiult. Ok, in the end we found it....friendly personell als always in Spain. They do train them well there!
Sercotel seem to buy all old Hotels right in the centre of any town, refurbish them, provide them with a garage for the car since you don't need one in the centre and Off you go. 3* is enough as long as the beds are ok and the shower works.... Estamos en España........... Next to the Mercado Central is a fine address. Breakfast or not doesn't really matter, there are plenty of little restaurants which provide you with "con leche," coffee with milk and crossants or other fine spanish breakfast items. Give it a try. And be honest... 3* or that extra * for the Gym? Just walk the extra mile and save a lot of money. You don't need the mile on the mill, just hit the road for free!

And when it comes  to tapas , well just count the pinxos and you will see...11 plus 1/2 raçion de pimentos all for 30€ including drinks .

There is no better way to enjoy  a reasonable holiday. Don't you agree.

Dinner @Nuevo Alcazar

Had a great time in  Restaurante Alcazar, http://nuevAlcazaroalcazar.com, a real  great  place for a night out in Benidorm. Food is excellent, drinks too. We had the Menü, 3 plates plus pan/allioli plus coffee, plus Panna Cotta and a Glass of Cava which is a Spanish Champain. Also a bottle of tinto and agua  con gas. Good quality for a decent price. A Smart concept in a nice setting. The service  was good. So I really  can recommend it. Do try it out.

Our Mountains around the Aitana

 Our Mountains around the Aitana
Our little village Orxeta a nice hiking area

Our Mountains   around here Sierra Aitana covers an extensive area and rises to a height of 1.557 metres above sea level. It is the highest peak in the Marina Baixa area and in the Alicante Province.  It is the place where “Benidormenses” and locals go to enjoy nature all year long but especially when it is not too hot. If you need further information go to https://www.excursionesbenidorm.com/en/sierra-aitana.html

Orxeta - Part of the Camino de Santiago

J

Pilgrims on the Way of St. James walk for weeks or months to visit the city of Santiago de Compostela. Some Europeans begin their pilgrimage on foot from the very doorstep of their homes, just as their medieval counterparts did.

Saturday Night in Alicante

So we went to Alicante for a little  Saturday night  fever. As always drinks  and food is cheap there compared to many big cities. You don't spend a lot of money if you go to taperias in the barrio, the old town. Everybody is in holiday  mood and enjoys the nice temperature in the South of Spain. What a Smart way to spend a sSaturday Night.

Benidorm Playa de Levante

Benidorm is famous for it's beaches. And that is good so.  This Photo shows one of the main beaches. The Playa Levante. Not only do we have the most beautiful water, turquoise like places in the Caribbean there is also the longest paseo the Promenade along it. And the way is all nicely  paved so comfortable for people on wheels like babies or wheelchairs,

Caribbean Benidorm

Having been in the Caribbean I know how the famos turquoise waters there look, feel and smell. But you don't have to go all that way over there. Over here at the Costa Blanca you have it just the same way for less money especially when you go in the Off-season as it is now. Hotel prices  drop drastically and you get real good offers right now. The teperature is good, with cool nights and warm or even  hot days about 28° C.
Yes, and the water had enough time all summer long  to keep warm and cosy.  Last year I even went bathing until October 31st, the temperature being still 22°C.  Yes that is the Mediterranean Sea in the South of Spain. Traveling there is easy with the new airport in Alicante and a busride to either Benidorm or the other nice places. You may also think of renting a car, which you should do online from back home for the best rates ever.
I wish you a happy holiday. May all your dreams   come true .

Playa in Villa

¡Hola, Hola!
