After Monet became an established artist, he influenced many American artists with his style of painting. Many of them (Sargent, Metcalf, Ritter, Taylor, and Wendel) made their way down to Normandy, met up with Monet and hung out at this placed called Hotel Baudy.
Of course, they lived there too since Monet needed his own house for his inspiration! In any case, many cups of coffee and ideas were shared in this place, Hotel Baudy in Monet's little lane a couple of blocks further down.
