The Prater was once imperial hunting ground and only accessible for the aristocracy, until the Austrian Emperor Josef II donated the area to the Viennese in 1766 as a public leisure center. And since Emperor also allowed the establishment of restaurants and snack bars – small wonder that it didn’t take long until the precursors of today’s Wurstelprater appeared on the edge of the former aristocratic hunting grounds.

The Hochstrahlbrunnen, a large fountain that looks like a geyser was built to celebrate the construction of the first water pipeline from the Styrian alps to Vienna in 1873.
Close to it you find the Soviet memorial "Heldendenkmal der Roten Armee". It was built in 1945 by the Soviet army to commemorate the 17,000 Soviet soldiers that died in the course of the "Battle for Vienna"

Vrindavan has a distinct style to celebrate Janmashtamiof its own. The processions heavily decorated with 'Jhankis' or tableaus, depicting various episodes of Lord Krishna's life, are brought out in the city. The most spectacular displays during the period are the gold and silver 'Jhulas' or swings that are taken out on display only during the occasion.

Little stroll along the bank of the Rhine Rhein in the evening. Go for a beer, Apfelwein called Äppler speak eppla meaning Cider and soda and some local simple specialities. Kids are playing at the banks, some people come by bike others by boaty or by car. Everybody enjoys the warm air about 25 degrees C and is happy about the summer, even the gulls resting on the sandbank in the Rhine.

Iona lies approximately 1.6 kilometres from the coast of Mull. It is 1.6 kilometres wide and 5.6 kilometres long with a resident population of 125. The geology of the island consists mainly of gneiss and small outcrops of pink granite on the eastern beaches. Like other places swept by ocean breezes, there are few trees. A monastery was founded in 563 by the monk Columba.

Valor - the very Spanish chocolate brand

Valor is the well known Spanish chocolate brand and the factory is in Villajoiosa ... so to say "our town". You can go and visit and get a bag full of freebes. In Spain they not only eat chocolate like we do over here but the drink it. It is rather thick more like chocolate pudding and to make up with calories they eat churros more like our Carnival Kreppel.
Delicious but you get the calories for a whole week - but worth trying.

Originally tapas were the slices of bread or meat which sherry drinkers in Andalusian taverns used to cover their glasses between sips. This was a practical measure meant to prevent fruit flies from hovering over the sweet sherry. The meat used to cover the sherry was normally ham or chorizo, which are both very salty and activate thirst. Because of this, bartenders and restaurant owners began creating a variety of snacks to serve with sherry, thus increasing their alcohol sales.^[1] The tapas eventually became as important as the sherry.
